In all the commandments there is an order and this order is one of priority. What does God command us to do first? It is a priority given by Jesus to seek the kingdom of God. Why is this so important and how come those who claim to be followers of Jesus have no idea what it means? Jesus was the king of the Jews and the Romans mocked him and killed him so that his kingdom was at hand meant close enough to touch but yet he did not enter it until he expired on the cross. Does this mean that if we want to obey and follow Jesus we must also die? No, it means that we must believe him to reach the kingdom. In other words if we seek the kingdom we shall find it and in the process become kings. Only by us becoming kings can he be lifted up to become king of kings because after all he is our lord. If just one of us becomes king he instantly enthrones Jesus. We bring glory to Jesus as he glorifies us. Do we have a choice? Sure we can obey or disobey. But who will lead us in the right direction?
