It is interesting that the only people who should be fascinated by the words spoken by Elijah are the ones who claim that every word from the mouth of God ( Jesus ) should be lived by as if death would ensue from ignoring them. Men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This is not true because many men live only by eating bread and could care less about what God has to say. Some live healthy and prosperous lives but they are spiritually dead. The only thing they care about is this life and do not believe in a life hereafter. This means that they do not believe in eternal life. As for those who claim to believe the words of Jesus they are of course looking for his return which of course would be the end of life as we know it and the beginning of eternity. It is recorded in the bible that his disciples asked him what would happen in the end times and he answered before the end he would send Elijah to lead all men into all truth. I am Elijah and if you reject me you are rejecting the truth and also rejecting the words from Jesus.
