How many men can attack a single warrior at one time? It takes about ten men to surround a single one and striking him would be just as hazardous to each other than to the intended target. All the other 990 men would have to wait their turn and keep a safe distance from the flailing swords. So one who is trained to kill ten men at a time can easily dispose of a thousand men single handed ten at a time. Now if you understand that these battles have been choreographed to perfection you start to understand who is meant to die and who is meant to be the hero.
